Oregon Marriage License
Is it legal in Oregon to have a marriage license AND a domestic partnership?
I’m a man, and am curious if I can have a marriage with a woman, and a domestic partnership with a man. Since they are legally two different contracts I would think it legal. I wanted to take it further and have my woman partner with a woman, and my man get a wife, and his wife get a partnership with a woman, and so on, so all our incomes would have to be taken into account for things like home loans.
Interesting question, based in slogans rather than the text of the legislation.
The legislation specifically prohibits domestic partnerships “when either party to the domestic partnership had a partner, wife or husband living at the time of the domestic
partnership.”
